What-is-CAM-

What is CAM?

Complementary and Alternative Medicine includes a wide array of practices that complement mainstream medicine or serve as alternatives to conventional treatments. These approaches often prioritize natural healing, personalized care, and a focus on prevention. CAM recognizes the uniqueness of each individual and seeks to address health concerns in a comprehensive manner. CAM is often used alongside or in conjunction with conventional medical treatments.

It-s-philosophy-

It’s philosophy!

The philosophy of Complementary & Alternative Medicine (CAM) centers on a holistic and patient-centered approach to health and healing. CAM emphasizes the interconnectedness of the mind, body, and spirit, recognizing that each person is unique and may respond differently to treatments. It promotes the use of natural and non-invasive therapies, often focusing on prevention and addressing the root causes of illness rather than just alleviating symptoms. CAM encourages active patient participation, self-care, and the belief that the body has innate healing abilities when given the right support.

Key Components of CAM:

  1. Mind-Body Practices: CAM often involves mind-body techniques such as meditation, yoga, and tai chi. These practices aim to enhance the connection between mental and physical health, promoting relaxation, stress reduction, and improved mental clarity.

  2. Natural Products: Herbal remedies, dietary supplements, and nutritional interventions are common aspects of CAM. These natural products are used to support the body's inherent healing processes and maintain balance.

Billing & Insurance

What is the cost for a visit?

We are dedicated to comprehensively exploring the many tangential body systems that affect mental health. Hence the appointment cost may vary depending on the type and duration of your session. The cost for a visit is $450 for a 60 minute session.

Does insurance cover lab testing & supplements?

Depending on your insurance plan, it may cover your labs, imaging, supplements, and/or pharmaceuticals. Please contact your health insurance prior to the appointment to determine what exactly is covered with your plan.

Do you accept insurance for Naturopathy and other CAM related services?

Naturopathic Doctors are currently considered ‘out-of-network’ providers, meaning that you would pay the session fee at the time of service.

Treatment Related Queries

What to expect from your first visit?

Naturopathic medicine is a personalized approach to healthcare that relies on your active participation for optimal results.

Before your visit:
You will be required to complete a comprehensive intake form, enabling your provider to gain a thorough understanding of your complete health background.

During this appointment our provider will:
a) Conduct a detailed analysis, piecing together your medical concerns, symptoms, history, lifestyle, previous labs/imaging, and other relevant factors.
b) Review your current medications and supplements, brainstorming strategies for optimizing your regimen.
c) Recommend specific lab work to uncover underlying causes.
d) Prioritize and outline your treatment options.
e) Initiate the initial phase of your transformative care journey.

How does Naturopathic Psychiatry differ from traditional psychiatry?

Naturopathic Psychiatry distinguishes itself from traditional psychiatry by integrating natural and holistic approaches to mental health alongside conventional psychiatric treatments. While traditional psychiatry primarily employs pharmaceuticals and psychotherapy, Naturopathic Psychiatry places emphasis on lifestyle modifications, nutritional interventions, herbal remedies, and mindfulness techniques to address mental health concerns. It takes a holistic view of the patient, considering the interconnectedness of physical, mental, and emotional well-being. This approach aims to minimize side effects and focuses on identifying and addressing the root causes of mental health issues rather than solely managing symptoms with medication.

What treatment modalities are recommended by Naturopathic Doctors (NDs)?

Naturopathic Doctors (NDs) commonly recommend a range of treatment approaches, which may include supplements, nutrition, herbal medicine, lifestyle optimization, medications (in specific situations), and Naturopathic Psychiatry.
